Last Sunday I was pleasantly surprised to find Tabibu Cures on NTV. The surprises were many. first NTV took a bold step to air a health program in the midst of all the Sunday morning worship programs.
This Tabibu guy ( I actually don’t know his name) was last seen on KBC TV telling guys about how his herbal concoctions work. He is very convincing orator giving facts about diseases and why we are getting them even at times blaming the devil. That was almost 3 years ago before he popped up on my TV last Sunday and conscpicously not talking about his herbs any more. ‘Hmmmmm,’ I thought .
As he spoke with authority I realized that he had gone on a medical hiatus having had (in his own words) cancer or the pancreas, cancer of the liver and diabetes. If my medicine does not fail me, liver cancer is associated with liver degeneration alot of the times due to booze. Again I scratched my head. In his rumblings that mixed facts with fiction I saw a man who was changing his tune. No more Tabibu cures, no more concoctions. He is quite the businessman I must say.
Adding two and two together it made sense, all the hype about Tabibu herbs a few years ago did not save Tabibu himself. I think he even went for treatment of his cancer and diabetes in a conventional hospital.
Therefore does Tabibu cure, methinks not and that goes for many of the fake herbalists in our midst. So people need to be careful about what guys are trying to sell.

I have gone there and the person who has written this post is absolutely right.this guy is a fake one and confused as well.he asked me to buy medicine worth 15k which I did and if anything the situation got worse.I recovered but not from his medicine but pharmaceutical medicine.please Kenyans don’t be cheated by Manundu.he is a fake “doctor” but puts a lots of achievements to his name to make you believe.

Hi, do not be scared. Be informed.This is my personal opinion and observation. With my bias being a Doctor, my advice is that you visit one of the few rheumatologists around Nairobi like Dr Omondi Oyoo (Nairobi Arthritis Clinic Forte Granite, Flats B 4 Bishop Road 0727-935706). Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that is easily controlled these days with medication and your joints will not degenerate.

Well , I consider his information disingenuous, not straightforward. He is a good marketer that I agree with however he does not answer his own questions e.g. if he has been using his miracle “cures” how is it that he got all those diseases in the first place? Where did he get treated for these ailments? Trust me it was in a hospital. I love herbal medicine but there are some crooked fellows out there just like there are crooked pastors. methinks

Who is this Kenyan “professor” who seem to have a magic cure for all the deadly illnesses on this planet? I watched him sweet talking the audience on NTV Uganda and I thought this must be a dangerous conman. He even has a contact point in Uganda now. I don’t believe him. He could be an incarnation of Pastor Joseph Kibwetere who ended up killing thousands of people in Western Uganda in 2000 using such trickery.

My point exactly Aliane.I think he is more dangerous than he appears. Wonderful marketer I must admit but we need to be careful of the sweet words from his mouth.There is such a thin line where he treads on religion to nutrition and his “wonder” drugs. Thats why I consider his information misleading.

Someone who has dealt with Habibu, please share your experience! I actually visited him last month and got some herbs. I need time to see the impact.
I am on a six-month not so cheap prescription. The doctor there however seems to rely on conventional labs, medical professionals and proves the effectiveness of his treatment by lab results.

I have never dealt with tabibu directly however I have dealt with patients who have been to several “herbalists” without cure yet having spent alot of money, even more money that conventional medications would have taken.
Most importantly I would like to know:
1.Has your condition been treated?
2.What was the actual cost?
3.Are you happy with the results?
That way we can have a frank discussion on whether these self confessed herbal practitioners (They is a body that registers them) really do provide quality cost effective treatment.

The costs are high. some medication, a single 300ml bottle goes for kshs 9,000. depending on your problem you’ll spend more.

I did visit the clinic bought medicine for close to 100k if not more for a period of 3months. Fake clinic fake herbal medicine .. What I had is still the same hasn’t decreased or changed one bit. Anyone planning to go to this clinic please watch out. Unless u have a lot of money to waste. I’m very upset

He is very fake!! first and foremost he is not a Professor as he calls himself. He taught me elements of economics in first year at the University of Nairobi. I work at the same University and have confirmed that he has no Phd. Secondly am not a doctor but with the little biology i learnt in high school; his explanations about illnesses and how his drugs work do not make sense to me. Why haven’t the drugs cured his own cancer and diabetes? I really hate it when people use God’s name to make money.

Why go to a herbalist to get malaria prescription @15000. Malaria can be cured free at gok clinics. I think many Kenyans believe in magic and so consult with unproven herbalists, magicians, concoctionists etc.

Hi Guys, I like this conversation. In the era of con men, there is need for vigilance. I have been to Tabibu myself and given some medication which some how have improved my condition. I have hyper acidity and a condition known as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) Infact this condition has no cure. Before I visited Tabibu I went to all the best hospitals in the country and visted some good enterologist at Aga Khan, Nairobi Hospital infact one of them a renowned one from India. Incidentally whenever i take tests, all of them are negative. This continued for a couple of years, till i finally visited Tabibu as a last resort. They gave some medication which has improved my condition; indeed i no longer undergo the painful stomach i used to. There is some improvement though the condition hasn’t fully cleared. it recurs once in a while though not painful as before. I’m still on with medication. I’m told they are natural herbs and supplements also. A word of caution though, they are very expensive.
My advice to you is that you should exhaust the conventional medical treatment before you try them. You realize i went there after I exhausted them first. I’ll keep you guys posted on my pogress. The centre has good care givers who in my opinion are qualified. some staff are from hospitals.

Thanks Archibald for sharing your experience.It is good to hear real life experiences especially when you have been frustrated with “modern” medicines. As you mentioned IBS has no known cure, however were you prescribed medications that control the symptoms from the gastroenterologist at AgaKhan Hospital? What I think is that communication between the “modern” physicians and “alternative” physicians differs. We “modern” physicians do not give patients time to discuss their illnesses and that way treatment goals may not be reached.However, 9000 bob for a bottle of medication is expensive!!! There are lab tests at Tabibu. i underwent several tests including blood sugar test, food intorelance and BMI. My case was more specific coz i explained that i had undergone other tests. Consultation fee is 1,000 shs.Before i got here I did tests including Endoscopy, h.pylori, stool tests, some chest xrays, blood tests and I think MRI scans. Most of the medication I have been using for a long time are probiotics, Relcer/Gaviscon,Esomeprazole tablets(nexium 40mg) I have used Eso kit. I had also visited several serious conventional doctors who always told me that I wasn’t sick after undergoing all these tests including heart specialists. you can imagine going through very painful moments with no solution in sight. Previously I could hardly stay for two weeks before visiting the Hospital. since I started with Tabibu last year around October, I haven’t stepped in a hospital other than once for a bacterial infection which cleared very fast. Previously this bout of pain could hit even at night. You could find driving to hospital at 2am, then I’m injected with some pain relieving medication which never seemed to work anyway. I’m open for further discussion particularly on my condition. Nowadays I don’t exercise much caution on foods like before but I have learnt what to avoid. You realize when you are sick money is really not a big issue compared to somebody’s life.

Its a pity there is little or no linkage between the work of herbalists and conventional medicine. Our ancestors relied on the forest for all their pharmaceutical and curative needs,. How i wish more research was undertaken before dismissing herbalists. But as it is the 2 teams work independently and castigating each other much as the politicians do. Who knows? The cure for cancer is lying out there in the bush. There is no need for competition in medical research….Please lets have joint research undertaken by these 2 groups..may manundu rest in peace.

I wrote an article in the dailies reaching out to the herbalists and all I got was a rude email telling me that doctors are very arrogant and the herbalists were more superior. However there is good news. I dont think Tabibu cure/ministry can cure all the deadly illness as they say. I think they try to manage and not all of the diseases , the only thing I can confirm I saw it work, is immune boosters
2 experiences I have.
1. my mom- she is diabetic from around 2004 there about not very sure of the year. she tried “The manundu” medication it was quite expensive i still remember the 1st therapy -detoxification and we bought the juicer at home so that we could make the carrot juice. for the 1st 1 week mom was not supposed to eat anything but drink carrot juice. after that medication started and always the medication came in small quantities but expensive. abouta year or so expensive and no major milestones could be seen.
since mom was obsessed with herbal medication she changed to quiet a number of the known herbalist in Kenya. In the meantime moms health was worsening and other diseses were taking toil on her e,g, Typhoid and arthritis. And you know all diabetic patients when faced with other diseases the blood sugar completely misbehaves.
to cut the story short,,, mom worsened, lost weight completely and we were all afraid. At that point dad forced her to see a diabetic specialist conventional doctor. Referrals were made to one very good and kind doctor, the late Dr. Okanga of Agakhan plaza Mombasa (God Rest his soul in peace). I will never forget the late doctor’s comment after the blood test results were brought he said “mama God loves you so much, if for all these years you have lived with this disease sooo poorly un-managed like this am competently astonished!”
…… so from that day to date mom was put under conventional medication, and after about 4 months into conventional medicine with one very good doctor Dr. Ibrahim of Aga khan Plaza Mombasa who took over after Dr. Okanga passed on. Mom started feeling better, her weight started increasing, it was a long road but as I write mom doesn’t use the insulin jabs anymore. she only uses the tablets (I think once a day). her typhoid was also treated and shortly after was given a vaccine jab to prevent typhoid.
her arthritis surprisingly was the only thing that was managed by a herbalist i think at Neem otherwise when it came to diabetics the herbal medication COULD NOT MANAGE.
2ND experience
a close cousin who was diagnosed with cancer of the colon. they decided to go to Tabibu cures that was early 2014. we even did a harambee I will never ever ever forget. One thing i know Tabibu relied on conventional labs for major analysis e.g. the MRI and scans. but they used to do a particular analysis which i cant explain am not conversant but it was giving a count of cells?? that tells if the cancer is going down or up depending on the count. and all the time that analysis was ~good progress
the medication costed an arm and a leg and most of it it came in the small quantiies. every month we were spending between 40-70K. After starting the medication she stared passing clots of blood and i think maybe the tumor was heavily disturbed. unfortunately all the times they went to the clinic they were told the progress is good. 2 times we had to take her for blood transfusion at Aga khan coz her Hb could go down i think coz of the ” blood clots”
to cut the story short, as the months progressed her stomach went to where it had started slowly by slowly i.e. blotting and severe pain toward the rectal region….. one time the stomach got so worse, she couldn’t not hold her stool and the stomach was soooo swollen. The problem was now more than meet the eye, she was rushed to the hospital. a CT scan was made and all the previous scans were presented, and the doctor said the tumor is actually bigger than the very 1st time a scan was made (pointing it was growing- so what was the medication doing from Tabibu?? a question we could not answer).
I was such an emotional time, tying to imagine what has been happening all this time while she was in the hands of Tabibu cures, Nway… to help her stomach ease up and remove everything blotting the stomach a surgery was the only option. BUT the doctors at KNH said at that stage they could not touch/remove the tumor. so they only did surgery of stomach to wash the stomach, intestines and made a bypass so that colon was not used for stool evacuation.
after, she was put under 1st radio then after Chemo at a cancer center a place along Langa’ta road……… unfortunately on her 4th session of Chemo we lost her 2015.
She had such a very very strong will to fight she really fought the disease…… I still believe if she had conventional medicine support early, her quality life would have been prolonged. I wish Tabibu cures would have told her its okay and important to seek conventional advice on the best decsion for her condition.

Thanks for sharing your story. Your stories are important to show people out there to be careful about the decisions they make regarding their health. For your mum the problem seems that the root cause (insufficient insulin) was not addressed by the Carrot juice and the “conventional” medicine seems to have “worked”. Just want to say that there is a need to use both “conventional” medicine as well as natural foods to manage chronic diseases. It is also becoming known that pills by themselves are not a long term solution for managing chronic diseases. People need to consider living healthy lifestyles in addition to “conventional” medicine. Dr Dennis in Kenya is actually helping people live healthy lifestyles to help delay chronic diseases like Diabetes at bay or assist the medication to work. Sorry for your cousin, unlike your mother her condition deteriorated.The increased bleeding she had actually was not a positive sign of the cancer of the colon. Early diagnosis of cancers is actually important in improving outcomes. Just want to say pole sana again.
Hope we can get the information out there that we need to “mulika” wrong medical practise to avoid others from going through the same problems. Please there are herbal practitioners who are doing good work in creating natural products but there are many quacks.
